An international gang was behind the plot

Gardaí and the PSNI have teamed up to smash an international crime gang – that was planning to flood both sides of the border with millions of euro worth of drugs.

Sources say the gang was from outside Ireland and was planning to sell the drugs on either side of the border. The find came as detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland and An Garda Síochána worked together as part of the Joint Agency Task Force. “The Joint Agency Task Force was established with the aim of bringing a concerted and enhanced effort to tackle cross-jurisdictional organised crime.
