The €850 horse has won €900,000 in prize money

Hewick is set to take his chance in this year's Grand National as he aims to add another big-race success to his incredible CV.

He began this season by finishing third behind French Dynamite and Minella Indo in the BetVictor Chase at Punchestown in October before coming second to Envoi Allen in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal at the start of November. And he now looks unlikely to lock horns with that rival again, with a run in the Grand National at Aintree in April the aim.

"Hewick is a great horse, but he'd never beat him. I just think in an English National that we'd have a little chance with him there off 11 and a half stone. The lowest weight going to get into the English National this year is 150 so they'll have 10st 10lbs. It's not a big difference between top and bottom weight.
