Irish Gardai seized €14 million worth of cocaine and cannabis, dismantling a major drug supply network targeting West Dublin. Three high-ranking members of the gang, who used sophisticated concealment methods, have been arrested.
The seizure of nearly 200kgs of cocaine has dismantled an entire “supply network” into West Dublin and taken three significant players off the streets, a top cop has revealed.
Speaking earlier today, Assistant Commissioner Cleary said: “This was the result of an intelligence-led operation that has been going on for many months and it follows on from another big seizure last year. “So this is a significant seizure. We have stopped these drugs getting into our communities in West Dublin - those communities that have been devastated by drugs and we’ve seen that first hand.”
“The cars would have been modified there and the modification would have been basically cutting into panels and sealing them and disguising them. Assistant Commissioner Cleary said these repeated hits have “severely disrupted the gang” and showcases the gardai’s determination to stop drugs from flooding into the capital.
Assistant Commissioner Cleary also reiterated the gardai's commitment to keeping the streets clean and said they've made an impact.
