Met Eireann has just released its national forecast for the Bank Holiday weekend and it looks like it’s going to be overall quite cold, with frost and ice at night

Many of us are eager to know the weather forecast for St Patricks’s Day, with many families and excited children anticipating the parade.

Friday night: Cold and dry with long clear spells. Temperatures will fall to between -3 and 1 degrees so there will be widespread frost and some icy patches. Mist and fog patches will form too, in light and variable winds. Saturday night: Mostly dry and partly cloudy, with just isolated light showers. Patches of mist and fog will form in light and variable breezes. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.
