Kate Cassidy, former partner of late singer Liam Payne, shared a touching Instagram post marking her 26th birthday. The post included unseen photos of the couple and was accompanied by an emotional message reflecting on her relationship with Liam and the profound impact his loss has had on her.
Kate Cassidy has shared a heartfelt post as she marks her first birthday without Liam Payne , her boyfriend who tragically passed away last October. The former One Direction star died in Argentina after he fell from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. The pair started dating in 2022 and Kate revealed after Liam's death that he had plans to propose to her. Now, as Kate marks her first birthday without Liam, she has shared some never-before-seen photos of the late singer.
'Thankful for another year, and reflecting on the beauty of 25—it’s a chapter that will always be a part of me,' she captioned the Instagram post. 'Here’s to 26 .' The angel wing emojis and white heart are believed to signify Liam, as Kate has used these emojis before when posting about him. Kate then shared a series of images taken over the past year of her life, some featuring Liam. These include Liam and her attending a wedding, them on a swan boat, and the pair in Disneyland. People in the comments wished Kate a happy birthday, with many saying Liam was watching over her. 'Liam would be so proud of you... 444 forever,' said one commenter. 'The pic with Liam, he loved you so much, I'm sure is looking down proud, happy birthday Kate, we love you,' added another. 'Liam is celebrating with you, sweetie. He's proud of you,' added another well-wisher. 'Happy birthday Kate!!! Liam is so so so proud of you! He’s wishing you a happy birthday from heaven too!' said another poster. 'Happy Birthday Kate he's definitely watching over you,' a further supporter said. Recently, Kate opened up about how tough Liam's death has been on her, saying it is sometimes hard for her to get out of bed. Speaking on Lorraine Kelly’s ITV talk show to support the programme’s March4March mental health campaign, she said she is “still working on accepting the fact that he’s not here anymore”. “It’s hard for me to refer to him in the past tense, and when I do refer to him in the past tense it almost stings that little bit more because … it just … it’s more official.” Cassidy also said she has her “harder days, but I’m surrounded by such a great support system that I cannot thank enough”. She also called Payne “one of a kind”, who would “light up any room he walked into”. Cassidy added that “he had this sense of humour, where he really could make anything better, and his presence was comforting and warming, and that’s something that I’ll never forget about with him, ever”.
