Arsenal and Ireland ace Katie McCabe was reacting to the 4-0 hammering at the hands of Slovenia.
Katie McCabe has promised Ireland fans that they won’t be subjected to another performance like the one against Slovenia on Tuesday night.
The Arsenal ace had to apologise as she accidentally dropped an f-bomb in her post-match interview with RTÉ’s Tony O’Donoghue. The 4-0 Nations League defeat was Ireland's heaviest since a 4-0 friendly loss to Poland in 2018 - and the biggest competitive defeat since 2012. She said: “Look, we are at the start of our journey with Carla and the coaching staff coming in and a change of system, so there is going to be hiccups like this.“But we’ll pick ourselves up, we are a great bunch of players and girls, and I know the girls f***ing love… sorry, absolutely love playing for their country.McCabe had already admitted that the display was “completely unacceptable by our standards.
She added: “We can’t start games like that. We always know it’s going to be difficult coming to these types of places, playing away from home, but we need to have a look at ourselves. “We will go back to the drawing board and look to see where we can improve. The goals were completely avoidable. We gifted them their chances and it needs to be better.”
