Lancashire's hero plumber says he will stop using Asda deliveries for food parcels over 'job threat to 7,000 staff'
A Lancashire plumber has threatened to cut ties with Asda after a trade union claimed they could threaten to cut thousands of jobs over pay.
He also shares the food he buys for the people that benefit from his generosity, which more often than not is purchased at Asda. However, yesterday morning , James tweeted that this arrangement may come to an end.In a post, he tweeted that he will "officially cancel" using Asda for the national Depher food deliveries. He adds: "I will officially cancel using Asda. For the national Depher UK food deliveries, if Asda does decide this is their way forward.
According to the plumber, mum-of-five Trishia only eats supper, with "no tea, no dinner, no breakfast." He says he purchased £471.95 through an Asda online delivery order so that the family can pay their bills and put the heating on. National officer Nadine Houghton said: “Cutting the pay of 7,000 low-paid retail workers during a cost-of-living crisis is inexcusable.”
