The Late Late Show is taking a break this week, but it will return on January 10th. A film about Michael Collins, starring Liam Neeson and Julia Roberts, will air in its place.

The Late Late Show usually airs each Friday on RTÉ One from 9.35pm during its seasons, but it's off the roster tonight. Patrick Kielty will not be featured on our screens this evening, but fans of the iconic talk show don't have too long to wait until the show and it's hilarious host make a return. Making a post to social media, RTE confirmed the show will be back on January 10th.

We’re back with another brilliant show next Friday, January 10th.' The show will be replaced by a film instead, one that portrays some very important Irish history. Michael Collins, starring Liam Neeson and Julia Roberts, will kick off from 9.35pm tonight on RTE One. The fact-based drama focuses on Michael Collins' part in the 1916 Easter Rising against British rule, and was scripted and directed by Neil Jordan. Julia Roberts stars as Kitty Kiernan in the film. For those who want their Late Late fix, there will be a replay of The Late Late NYE Show at five past midnight. Patrick Kielty will be joined by a mix of celebrity guests, music, in-depth interviews and discussions on the stories that have the nation talking with a new year theme. Meanwhile on RTE2 at 9.40pm the first of two-part Australian crime drama The Claremont Murders will air.
