Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner confessed to snatching a girl from her Algarve holiday apartment, a court sensationally heard today. The paedophile is suspected of abducting and killing three-year-old Madeleine in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz.
Romanian Laurentiu Codin told Braunschweig regional court: “He told me that in Portugal, he had stolen there. He was in a region where there are hotels and rich people live. He said there was somewhere with an open window. He was looking for money. Later in his evidence, Codin added: “He asked if the dogs could track down and could smell where human remains could be found.”
Codin said when he angrily challenged Brueckner, the German replied: “What’s the problem? What’s wrong with that?” Brueckner earlier sat stony-faced as he was confronted with photos and videos of Madeleine in court. It was the first time images of the youngster had been screened in his ongoing trial on unconnected sex crimes.
