Gardaí arrested the suspect after he went to a takeaway restaurant covered in blood to raise the alarm following the incident last night
Gardai arrested a suspect for the murder of tragic mother Annie Heyneman after he went to a chipper to raise the alarm, it has emerged.
Her husband Henk, who is in his 60s, was found alive at the home – and he was seriously ill in hospital last night. He had also been stabbed. Her husband Henk, who is originally from the Netherlands but has been living in the area for several decades, was seriously injured in the horror attack.Mrs Heyneman, who was a native of Ballyconnell and whose maiden name was McLoughlin, died at the scene. Her remains were taken to Cavan General Hospital.
Sources say a man known to Mr and Mrs Heyneman was being questioned by gardai, and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the killing.
