Gardaí arrested a man in his 30s following the discovery of another man's body in his 60s at a home in Cluain Fada, New Ross. Emergency services responded to the scene shortly after 11:00 am where the deceased man was pronounced dead. The scene has been preserved for technical examination, and a postmortem will be arranged. Gardaí are appealing for information and camera footage from the area.

A man in his 30s was arrested nearby and taken to a Garda station in the Eastern Region to be questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. A Garda spokesman said a senior officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at New Ross Garda station. A family liaison officer has also been assigned to the family.
