Army bomb disposal unit called to Cranogue Road to examine a suspicious package
The man, thought to be a well-known criminal involved in the Ballymun-Finglas gang feud, was arrested by armed officers shortly after a number of shots were fired at Cranogue Road just before 5pm.
“Gardaí are at the scene of an incident in Cranogue Road, Ballymun, Dublin 11 this evening,” a garda spokeswoman said. “A man has been arrested for firearms offences and is being detained at Ballymun Garda Station. EOD [Emergency Ordinance Disposal] are en route to the scene.”
