Irish Gardaí seized over €123,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis during searches in Arklow and Aughrim, arresting a man in his 40s for drug offenses.
Gardaí have arrested a man after seizing hundreds of thousands of euros of cocaine and cannabis following searches in Wicklow. Officers nabbed a combined €123,720 of cannabis and cocaine following searches conducted in Arklow and Aughrim on Tuesday morning. The haul was found as part of Operation Tara and ongoing investigations into the distribution of drugs in South Wicklow/ North Wexford.
A male in his 40s was arrested at the scene for an offence contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in the Eastern Region. A Garda spokesperson confirmed that the drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis and that investigations are ongoing
