A father of four, Patrick (Paddy) Harney, died in a workplace accident at a manufacturing plant in Bealnamulla, Athlone on Wednesday. Tributes have poured in for the popular local, who was described as a 'gentleman' and 'an utter and thorough gentleman.'
A father of four who died in a workplace accident in south Roscommon earlier this week has been remembered as a 'an absolute gentleman who will be sorely missed'.
The Health and Safety Authority were notified ahead of a pending investigation by State agency chiefs and Gardaí said that a file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court. "Paddy was very popular in the community, I knew him for many years. An utter and thorough gentleman and his loss will be enormous in the area for many years to come. I'm totally lost for words in relation to the news, it's such an awful tragedy to have happened.
A death notice posted on RIP.ie said that Mr Harney had died “tragically following an accident” on Wednesday.
