A mother of two who tragically lost her life during a shocking Valentine's Day shooting in a tranquil UK village has been identified by police. Lisa Smith, aged 43, from Slough, succumbed to gunshot wounds outside the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, Kent , on February 14th. The suspected perpetrator, an individual known to Lisa, is believed to have fallen from the Queen Elizabeth II bridge, spanning the Thames between Dartford and Essex, following the murder.

Kent Police issued an update today, revealing that investigators are actively searching a section of the River Thames in connection with a suspected murder on Friday. \In a statement, a police spokesperson confirmed, 'Police are continuing to search areas of the River Thames after a suspect linked to a murder in Knockholt is believed to have fallen from the Queen Elizabeth II bridge.' They further elaborated, 'Kent Police was called at 7.02pm on Friday 14 February 2025 to Main Road, Knockholt where a woman in her 40s had suffered gunshot wounds. She died at the scene. Whilst the victim has not yet been formally identified, she has been named as Lisa Smith, aged 43, and who was from Slough.' \A car and firearm believed to be connected to the suspect were later discovered near the Dartford Crossing. The suspect, a man known to the victim, was reportedly seen on the wrong side of a bridge barrier, leading officers to concentrate their efforts on water searches to recover him. Heartfelt tributes have been left at the scene. Flowers, balloons, and numerous notes addressed to 'Lisa' adorn a small patch of grass adjacent to the Knockholt pub, as reported by Mirror UK. A poignant card reads, 'Our love and prayers are with your family, especially your boys and granddaughter. May they continue to frown knowing the love you always showed them. May your light continue to shine as bright as it always has.' Two other cards simply express, 'Dear Lisa, rest in peace.' Many mourners have left red roses alongside their written condolences. Balloons inscribed with 'a wonderful mum' have been tied to a brick near the flowers, while another balloon features Disney's Ariel. Michelle Thomas, the landlady of the Three Horseshoes, described the community's state of shock following the incident, recounting the unsettling sounds of 'screaming, shouting and crying' that echoed through Kent after the shots rang out on Friday evening. 'There was so much commotion — screaming, shouting, crying. People were outside on their phones. We tried to get people inside the pub. People were only just starting to sit down, it was early on in the evening,' she shared with Sky News.
