Booking a doctor’s appointment, she found out that the red patches of skin were actually eczema and Delilah was prescribed steroid cream, but that did not help at all
A mother whose baby suffered with eczema so bad it caused her to bleed and her skin to “weep” found a solution thanks to her 10,000 viewers on TikTok, with one person’s suggestion meaning her child is “no longer in constant pain” leaving her “over the moon”.
Leigha, who lives in Harlow, Essex, with her partner, Chey Douglass-McCarthy, 24, a business owner, and their little girl, Delilah, told PA Real Life: “It was really awful to see my baby in pain, not knowing what to do to solve it. “I worried about Topical Steroid Withdrawal so I started trying another cream that the doctors said would be good for skin but Delilah was allergic to it.”
Things took a turn for the worse in June when Delilah woke up with what Leigha described as “the worst flare up” the tot had ever experienced. At the height of Delilah’s skin problems, Leigha would co-sleep with her to prevent her from scratching in the night and used scratch mitts to stop her baby from making herself bleed.
