Thousands are expected at the first day of the annual National Ploughing Championships.
The annual, three-day event will see people from all corners of the country make their way to Ratheniska, Co Laois. Those travelling to the site are being urged to follow official signage only, and not Google Maps or a sat-nav device to get to the event car parks.The National Ploughing Association is advising people to book their tickets online in advance, if possible."There might be 10,000 tickets not sold. If there is those 10,000 tickets will be available on the gate.
"But, you know, do you take that chance? Do you drive three hours and maybe, you know, you're the one person over the number and the gates close? We don't want that for anybody either".Traffic moving well 🚗
