A woman who says her dog helped her discover she had breast cancer has spoken of the importance of doing regular checks.

Mrs Allison, a mum of two who works as a childminder, said: "I was just lying on the sofa, watching TV on a Saturday morning when Luna jumped at me. "When I checked myself, it didn't feel right, so I made a doctor's appointment for the Monday and they sent me for a biopsy."I think she knew - she's my little lifesaver."Mrs Allison has had two operations at Nottingham City Hospital to remove the lump and is waiting to find out if she will need to have chemotherapy."I have always checked myself regularly and the last time I had done so, I hadn't felt anything there.
