Police in Northern Ireland are investigating an incident where a petrol bomb was thrown at a house in north Belfast. Thankfully, the device did not ignite, causing only minor damage. A second homemade device was also found at the property but failed to explode.
Detectives are investigating an attack at a house in north Belfast on Saturday after a petrol bomb was thrown into the garden. Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) officers received a report at 11 pm on Saturday night that a petrol bomb had been thrown into the garden of a house in the Hoylake Park area of the city. The device did not ignite, and only minor damage was caused.
While officers were at the scene, they were informed that a second homemade device had been left at the property but that it also failed to ignite. A PSNI spokesperson said: “Detectives are working to establish a motive for the incident and would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area, or who captured dash-cam or CCTV footage which could assist with their enquiries, to contact them at Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 1725 22/03/25.” A report can be made online using the non-emergency reporting form via [insert link] or you can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online via [insert link]
