Motorists travelling on the A46 have faced disruption due to 'paperwork' spread all over the road. Pictures from the scene show officers sweeping the major A road littered with sheets of paper.

Tweeting from the scene on Thursday, June 8, Leicestershire Roads Policing Unit , said this contradicts the myth according to which traffic officers "do not do much paperwork". They shared pictures from the incident and thanked people for their patience. Leicestershire Roads Policing Unit said in a tweet on Thursday morning: "For many years there's been a myth within the police service that "Traffic Officers" don't do much paperwork...well this evidence just shows how wrong that is!!

"Look at all this paperwork we're dealing with on the A46!!...On a serious note, thanks for peoples patience. 332/24"
