President Michael D Higgins has condemned the attack on a hospital in Gaza and said it must be investigated as a war crime.President Higgins said he was “shocked” and “horrified” at the latest escalation of the war in the Middle East as he slammed the atrocity that has claimed the lives of at least 500 sick patients, staff and visitors at the Palestinian hospital.He said: “It must be investigated, certainly, as a war crime.
President Higgins was visiting the IFAD headquarters in Rome where he held a bilateral meeting with the organisation’s President, Alvaro Lario. The President spoke to reporters afterwards. “But from once the facts are available to you, the moral responsibility is on you, both from any kind of jurisprudence and any type of law, to bring it and to deal with it appropriately.
