With Storm Darragh expected to wreak havoc in a number of areas from Friday night into Saturday morning, the national forecaster has placed several counties under a rare Status Red wind warning
It's not often that Met Eireann deems it necessary to issue a Status Red warning for any type of weather.

In these areas, Storm Darragh could result in fallen trees, damage to power lines, dangerous travelling conditions, structural damage to temporary structures and wave overtopping in coastal areas.
