RTÉ confirmed in a statement that the broadcaster has written to Tubridy’s agent Noel Kelly that his television contract has come to an end following his departure from the Late Late Show in May
Ryan Tubridy is now out of contract with RTÉ, the broadcaster has confirmed, following his departure from the Late Late Show in May.
“Negotiations had commenced regarding his radio responsibilities. Those negotiations have been paused as with all negotiations as per board statement,” RTÉ said.Meanwhile, RTÉ has also confirmed that seven senior members of its executive are to appear before the Oireachtas media committee on Wednesday afternoon to face questions from TDs over the ongoing payments scandal at the broadcaster.
Geraldine O’Leary, the broadcaster’s head of commercial, director of strategy Rory Coveney, RTÉ’s head of audit and risk Anne O’Leary, and board member Robert Shortt will also appear. In its statement, RTÉ said that no executive at the broadcaster other than the now-departed director general Dee Forbes had all the necessary information to understand that the publicly declared salary figures for Ryan Tubridy could have been wrong.
