Ryan Tubridy puts past disagreements with RTÉ aside, stating life is too short and expressing fondness for his time working there. He has returned to watching and listening to RTÉ content, including Six One News, Radio 1, and Lyric FM.

Ryan Tubridy has put all 'animosities and grievances' with RTÉ behind him this year because life is too short. The broadcaster has decided to re-engage with the national broadcaster after leaving the station amid a pay controversy in June 2023. After tuning out of RTÉ TV and radio content for a period of time he is back as a viewer and listener once again.

Ryan said: 'After a period of self-imposed isolation from RTÉ, I've decided to re-engage and put all animosities and grievances in the rear view mirror. 'Life is too short. RTÉ is a fine institution and I look back fondly on the years I worked there and particularly the people I worked with.' Ryan keeps track of what is going on in Ireland by watching the daily Six One News on RTÉ and he listens to presenters Aedín Gormley, Marty Whelan, George Hamilton and Simon Delaney on radio. 'I'm back listening to the news programmes on Radio 1 and watching the Six One News and tuning into anything Lyric FM broadcasts and I'm back doing the Simplex crossword which I've missed,' he wrote in his Mail on Sunday column. Ryan returned home from London for the Christmas period and he was met with an outpouring of love during his travels around Dublin. He said: 'My time home at Christmas was exceptionally lovely and I was gratified by the number of strangers who came up to say hello and welcome me home in the pubs, cafes and piers around town. 'Between handshakes and selfies, it was a warm, generous vibe and reminded me of all that is good in this country.
