Any links with the Ireland job can finally be dismissed as Damien Duff pledges his future to Shelbourne
Damien Duff has been tipped to lead Shelbourne to “great things” after signing a new long-term deal with the Premier Division leaders.
Last year he secured a fourth placed finish, bringing European football back to Tolka Park for the first time in 18 years, and they have led the Premier Division this season for most of the campaign. O’Brien added: “Re-signing with Shelbourne FC is a proud moment for me. It’s been my first experience of coaching and I’ve loved the challenge.
Technical Director Luke Byrne said: “It’s absolutely amazing news for everybody connected with the club that Damien and his coaching staff have signed new long term deals with Shelbourne. “We are all very determined to continue progressing as a team and we are aligned on how we believe we can do that.
And Barry Mocke, Shelbourne CEO predicted “great things” under the long-term leadership of the former Chelsea, Newcastle, Fulham and Ireland winger.
