The UK Met Office has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh, and Tyrone, predicting very strong winds and potential disruption this weekend.

A new Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for all six counties in Northern Ireland ahead of very strong winds arriving in affected areas this weekend. The UK Met Office issued the warning on Monday morning, which is set to kick in from the stroke of midnight on Friday, January 24 and remain in place until midday on Saturday, January 25, reports Belfast Live.

Some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen. Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.' 'Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible. Some roads and bridges may close.'
