Met Eireann has warned that there will be “severe and damaging” winds, while heavy rain will cause flooding in many areas.A wind alert will be valid until 8pm, and a rainfall warning until 9pm. A Met Eirean forecaster said: “Storm Dennis brings very wet and windy weather today with some severe and damaging gusts.
“Outbreaks of heavy rain will extend nationwide during the morning accompanied by gale force southerly winds.“Localised flooding is expected with some coastal overtopping along the Atlantic seaboard. Highest temperatures of 9C to 12C degrees.”
