Forecaster issues advisory ahead of for fifth named storm of the season which is set to hit Ireland on Thursday night

“Transitory falls of sleet and snow are expected too, especially across west and northwest counties. High seas and spells of heavy rain are expected also.”A status yellow fog warning will come into force for counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Roscommon, Tipperary and Waterford at 10pm on Tuesday. The warning runs until 10am on Wednesday.
