Speaking to RTÉ News Leo Varadkar also said he would welcome and appreciate ongoing support from the US on protecting the Good Friday Agreement
Leo Varadkar told RTÉ News that he will be using the opportunity to explain Ireland's position on Brexit.
"Our message on this trip is a simple one. We are fully committed to our membership of the EU, and see our place at the heart of the common European home we helped to build. The Taoiseach has said he does not anticipate any particular offers of help, but if President Trump is minded to appoint a special envoy to Northern Ireland, that would be welcome.
"We've successfully negotiated trade deals with Canada and Japan. President Trump has successfully rebooted NAFTA. Also on the agenda at his meeting with the President will be the undocumented Irish, E-3 visas and cyber security.
