Temperatures dipped to more than -6C last night as forecasters claim there is a possibility of a further final weather warning.

Met Éireann have said that Roscommon was the coldest part of the country overnight with temperatures dipping to -6.5C in Mountdillon.

, Met Éireann Meteorologist Brandon Creagh there is a possible risk that comes with thawing and re-freezing. “So still staying dangerous tonight on the roads, but once we get into tomorrow, Saturday, we'll have a proper thaw, and everything will be back to kind of South-westerly breezes, milder conditions than we've seen for past week.”Mr Creagh said there is a possibility for a further warning later today as temperatures are set to dip to minus numbers again tonight.
