Bookmakers had been offering odds of 5/1 on snow falling in Dublin on Christmas Day as weather events appeared to be aligning for Ireland to see some festive snowfall this year.

However, Met Éireann is no longer mentioning the possibility of wintry showers on its extended range forecast, and the latest weather charts suggest that most of Ireland will be the same temperature as the Costa del Sol on Christmas Day. There will be no need to add sun cream to your Christmas shopping list, however, as the temperatures – although unseasonably mild – are unlikely to exceed 15 degrees.
