Ireland is the third-most expensive country in Europe to raise a child, a new study has found. Poor maternity and paternity leave is the main contributing factor for this, according to a new study by e-commerce platform Ubuy.

Slovakia landed the top spot with a score of 79/100, compared to Ireland’s 32. Switzerland has been ranked the most expensive country in Europe to raise a child. Even after deductions and rebates, childcare in the country costs the average parent 34% of their income.
