A woman with visual impairment was left stranded at Glasgow Airport for 24 hours after her easyJet flight to Belfast was cancelled, leading to accusations of poor customer service and support.
A visually impaired woman, Megan McKeown, criticized budget airline easyJet after her flight from Glasgow to Belfast International Airport was cancelled on December 22nd, stranding her at the airport for 24 hours. Ms. McKeown, who suffers from a brain condition, and her boyfriend had travelled to Stirling for a pre-Christmas break and were left without options as their flight was repeatedly delayed before being cancelled.
She claimed that the airline's lack of communication and support during the ordeal ruined their Christmas and caused her to become ill from the stress. Despite being offered a hotel room by easyJet customer service, the couple was unable to access accommodation due to financial constraints and Ms. McKeown's visual impairment. They ultimately spent the night in the airport before being able to catch a rescheduled flight the next day. EasyJet has since apologized and offered Ms. McKeown a flight voucher as a gesture of goodwill
