On Off The Ball it was claimed that this Ireland team could beat Wales with '13 or 12 men' and ex-Ireland internationals were among those to criticise the comments

Wales interim boss Matt Sherratt insists he has shut out negative talk about the visit of Six Nations title holders Ireland to Cardiff - including the Irish radio commentary that offended Welsh fans this week.

"I learned the first time I did this job, I think I was referred to as an 'unknown little Englishman', so I deleted my social media pretty quickly," Sherratt said after naming his side for Saturday's Principality Stadium encounter. Sherratt, the Cardiff Blues boss who is Warren Gatland's short-term replacement, says that while Ireland have a clear identity in how they play the game, it will take weeks for the Wales team to develop something of that nature.

"They’ll understand there’s not a lot of huge changes we can make in three games. I think historically the Wales Ireland games have always been ferocious battles. "Listen, they’ll have probably looked at some of the Cardiff footage in terms of what we do with lineout launch and phase attack, but I’m pretty sure they’ll concentrate more on what they do rather than what we do."
