A woman in her 40s suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident on the R415 in Derrymullen , Allenwood, Co Kildare, on Sunday, February 2, at approximately 11:15 am. Emergency services were called to the scene where they found the pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle that failed to stop. The injured woman was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardai have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. A Garda spokesperson emphasized the importance of information from the public, urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or captured footage of the area at the time to contact the authorities. The spokesperson stated that any road users with camera footage, including dashcam recordings, traveling in the vicinity during the incident are requested to provide this footage to the investigating Gardaí.
