Pat Shortt and Jon Kenny entertained audiences for years in D'Unbelievables

Comic legend Pat Shortt has said working with his daughter Faye has made him enjoy working as a comedy duo again - as he opens up about his heartbreak over the loss of Jon Kenny.

Now Pat has opened up about how irreplaceable Jon is to him – but working with his daughter Faye as a double act has given him comfort. “We never thought of ourselves as a new D’Unbelievables and we’re not, but to think that somebody had made that connection, I thought was really sweet and lovely. The reason why I’m telling you this story is yes; Faye has replaced Jon in some ways but not. It’s different. Replace is the wrong word. That was never the intention with Faye.

Opening up about his grief, Pat said he got a huge blow on Tuesday while watching fellow pal John Creedon’s TV show. Pat and Faye were chatting to the Irish Mirror ahead of their final leg of their Irish tour, Knuckle Down, which they will perform on two nights in the Olympia in Dublin on March 20 and 21.
