Tottenham completed the signing of Dominic Solanke last week with Ian Wright keen on seeing him at Arsenal - despite backing their attacking stars to get the job done
The ex-Bournemouth hitman was on the radar of several clubs after smashing the 20-goal barrier for the Cherries last term. His exploits convinced Tottenham, who were yet to replace Harry Kane as a No 9, to part with £65million to land Solanke.
Wright admits Solanke would've been the kind of striker he'd have been content with but claimed the likes of Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli can produce the number of goals needed to fire Arsenal to the title should they hit top form once again. Last term Arsenal were the Premier League's second highest scorers - only being topped by champions Manchester City. They scored four of more times in a game on numerous occasions but have lacked an elite goal scorer with Bukayo Saka topping their scoring charts last term with 20.
Wright added on their business thus far: "I’m really happy with how pre-season has gone and getting in Calafiori. I know there’s something else in the works for Arsenal, they’re going to try and do something and they have to. They need to get 90 plus points. If something comes up they will do it. They need the bench to be better."
