The incident occurred at around 12:45 pm on the N63 in the townland of Creeveroe, Newbridge, Ballinasloe.
Gardai rushed to the scene, where they found the man in his 20s who was fatally injured and was pronounced dead.Officers have confirmed that his body was taken to Portiuncula University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place.
The road remains closed at this time, local diversions are in place, and Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. “The single-vehicle collision occurred on the N63 in the townland of Creeveroe, Newbridge, Ballinasloe at approximately 12.45 pm today. “The driver of the car, a male aged in his 20s, is receiving medical attention at Portiuncula University Hospital.“Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision to contact them”.
