Young people are more likely to recognise the YouTuber MrBeast than the Tánaiste in Ireland, a new survey has found.
That’s among the findings of a new survey conducted by regional youth radio stationIt aimed to better understand young people’s behaviours, attitudes, and thoughts in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.Some 63% of respondents correctly identified MrBeast in a photograph, who has almost 300 million subscribers on YouTube, compared to just 56% for Micheál Martin.
“It may also be representative of his renowned status as a symbol of Ireland and Irishness,” she said. “It’s not young people’s fault for not taking an interest; it’s up to us to show them why they should be interested in politics,” he said.
