Chaos erupted in Darndale, north Dublin, on Sunday afternoon as joyriders blocked off Priorswood Road, wrecked cars, and caused damage to property, including a car in flames and a vehicle crashing into a wall. An Garda Síochána has been contacted about the incidents.
A main road was blocked off in a Dublin suburb over the weekend as joyriders wrecked cars amid chaotic scenes. The incidents took place on the Priorswood Road in Darndale , north Dublin on Sunday afternoon.
Video footage showed a section of the road blocked off by debris while two hatchback cars sped along, reports Dublin Live . One of the cars, with its rear bumper barely hanging on, was seen crashing into a chicane placed on the road to slow down traffic. The other car could be seen mounting the footpath and driving along a grass bank beside the road, before the two cars begin to do handbrake turns. A white Audi car could be seen trying to drive past the joyriders, but was forced to stop as the two cars blocked the Audi's path. More footage of the road later in the day showed a hatchback car in flames in the same area that was previously being used by the joyriders, while another video showed a small hatchback car being driven over grass and into the front garden wall of a local home. An Garda Síochána has been contacted about the incidents. Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news from the Irish Mirror direct to your inbox: Sign up here .
