Despite brewing storms in the Atlantic, Ireland is predicted to be spared from the 'conveyor belt' of severe weather events for the next week. Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather states that these storms are heading towards Iceland and Greenland instead. While Ireland can expect mild, wet, and windy weather over the next three months, there are no significant storms predicted in the next 5-7 days. Temperatures are expected to drop to -2 degrees with frost and sleet possible in some areas.

Ireland is predicted to avoid the “conveyor belt of storms” that are brewing in the Atlantic Ocean, according to a weather expert.

The weather expert added: “Pressure forecast to rise over coming days and no significant storms likely over next 5 -7 days at least. However the UK Met Office have updated 3 month outlook, mild wet and windy weather is 2.3 to 2.5 times more likely over next 3 months.” Most areas will be dry with clear spells tonight, but there will be scattered showers in the north and west and some of these may be of sleet. It will be cold with frost and ice as temperatures fall to between -2 and +1 degrees. Winds will be light and variable.

Friday, 31 January Dry with hazy sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in light and variable winds, becoming southerly later.
