Actor John Connors has confirmed that Netflix is taking over the return of hit crime drama Love/Hate - and that his character's arch nemesis Nidge is alive! Connors sent fans into a frenzy on Thursday night when he revealed plans for a return of Love/Hate , over ten years on from when it last aired on RTE . In an update on Facebook on Friday, the star, who plays Patrick Ward in the gritty gangland show, said that RTE would not be involved in its return.
He said Netflix is taking it on, and that plans were afoot to film series six and seven back-to-back. \Reading out a fans question on Facebook, Connors said: 'John, is Nidge alive and is it on RTE?' He replied: 'No, it's not on RTE, it's on Netflix, they're bringing it back, a bit like what they did with Top Boy. I'll give you a little exclusive on it. We're shooting back to back seasons. So season six and season seven. And is Nidge alive? Nidge is alive but that's all I can say on Nidge.' \Meanwhile, Connors said that he will be revealing more details about the return of Love/Hate when he speaks with the show's writer, Stuart Carolan, on his Sons of Katie podcast. The revelation that gang boss Nidge, played by actor Tom Vaughan Lawlor, will shock fans who were sure he had been killed off at the end of Season Five, when it aired on RTE in 2014. Nidge was blasted several times by Connors' character, Patrick Ward, following a long-running feud between the pair, and didn't look likely that he could have survived it. However fans are likely to be thrilled that Nidge is alive and will no doubt reignite his feud with Patrick when the show returns
