A man tragically lost his life yesterday evening after suffering a medical emergency on a road in west Cork .
Members of An Garda Siochana and emergency medical personnel attended the scene of the incident in the Gortnamucklagh area of Dunmanway at approximately 6.30pm on Saturday, February 1. A male motorist in his 60s was pronounced deceased and a stretch of road was closed for a period overnight. A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Mirror: "Gardaí assisted emergency services at the scene of a medical emergency at Gortnamucklagh Dunmanway, Co. Cork shortly after 6:35pm on Saturday, 1st February 2025.
"A man was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
