A man aged in his 40s has died in a single-vehicle crash near Westport in Co Mayo. It follows two separate serious collision last night.
Emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal crash in Co Mayo. The single-vehicle collision happened on the N59 at Ballycroy, near Westport around 10am.The N59 Mulranny to Bangor Erris road has been closed for a forensic collision investigation and local diversions are in place.A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N59 at Westport, Co Mayo, this morning, Thursday, 6th February, 2025.
"The N59 Mulranny to Bangor Erris road is currently closed with local diversions in place. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been notified. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Westport Garda Station on 098 50230, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
