Met Eireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning this morning for 18 counties, which will be in effect until noon.
They have warned: "Pockets of dense fog lingering, leading to impaired visibility and hazardous travelling conditions." In their overview for the week ahead, Met Eireann have written: "Turning colder from Tuesday night with scattered showers. More unsettled conditions developing on Thursday, with very strong winds and heavy rain possible on Friday and at the weekend."Today Some dense areas of fog at first today, gradually clearing through the morning to leave a mostly dry day with hazy sunny spells and well scattered showers.
Wednesday 22nd January A brighter day with mist and fog slowly clearing to leave sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly winds. Dry for most overnight at first with clear spells and well scattered showers. Cloud will build from the west overnight with showery outbreaks of rain spreading eastwards. Becoming breezier with winds increasing moderate to fresh southerly. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees.
