It looks like we may be in luck as conditions are set to be mostly dry, cool and cloudy with just the odd scattered shower throughout the upcoming St Patrick's Day weekend

The bank holiday weekend is almost upon us and many will be wondering if they'll have to have their raincoats handy for the next few days.

In their overview for the days ahead, Met Eireann have written: "Continuing cold with some frost and ice by night. Showers at times but generally plenty of dry weather over the bank holiday weekend."Thursday 13th March This morning will start off cold, bright and mostly dry. Cloud will increase through the day and will bring some showers, mainly to the north and west. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees with a light to moderate northerly or variable wind.

Saturday 15th March A cold, frosty and sunny start to the day with any mist and fog patches clearing. Cloud will increase as the day goes on and a few light showers will develop. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees with light northerly or variable breezes. Mostly dry and partly cloudy overnight, with just isolated light showers. Patches of mist and fog will form in light and variable breezes. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.
