Storm Éowyn battered through Ireland earlier this week leaving destruction in its wake - in the midst of renewed wind warnings across the country Met Eireann have warned of further damage

Much of the country has woken up under more wind warnings, following the Status Red in place earlier this week due to Storm Éowyn.

Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Louth and Meath will see a wind warning begin at 11am and expire at 6pm, while Cork, Kerry and Waterford are due to become windy later, with the Status Yellow starting at 11pm and lasting through the night until 9am tomorrow. Looking further ahead, the national forecaster has said: "Rain or showers at times. Some decent dry spells also, mainly towards the end of the week."Today Early this morning will be dry and very cold in many areas with frost and ice. Persistent or heavy rain and strong, gusty southeast winds will spread northeastwards through the morning and early afternoon with gales on south and east coasts. Scattered heavy showers will follow as rain clears northwards.
