Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for Cork , predicting unsettled weather conditions throughout the next few days. The rain warning, effective from 1 pm today until 8 am tomorrow, highlights the possibility of spot flooding, particularly near the south coast. This warning comes amidst forecasts of gusty and rainy weather spreading across the country today, with most of Ireland expecting unsettled conditions to persist until tomorrow.
Scattered outbreaks are anticipated throughout the weekend, according to Met Eireann.Today, Thursday 13th February, will be mostly cloudy, with many areas experiencing dryness. However, light rain or drizzle is expected in parts of Munster and Connacht. Heavier rain will spread northeastwards over Munster and Connacht through the afternoon and evening, increasing the risk of spot flooding near the south coast. Moderate east to southeast winds will intensify to fresh to strong and gusty conditions. Temperatures will range from 4 to 8 degrees. Tonight, rain will continue to spread northeastwards, potentially falling as sleet on high ground in Ulster. The heaviest rainfall is anticipated in south Munster, with the possibility of spot flooding. Winds will remain fresh to strong and gusty, blowing from the east to southeast. Overnight lows will range from 0 to 6 degrees, with the coldest temperatures in Ulster and the mildest in the southwest.Tomorrow, Friday 14th February, will begin wet and blustery, with rain gradually clearing from much of Munster and Connacht, giving way to bright or sunny spells in the afternoon. Leinster and Ulster will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day, experiencing further outbreaks of rain. Fresh southeast winds will gradually ease to light to moderate conditions. Temperatures will reach 4 to 7 degrees in Leinster and Ulster, while Connacht and Munster will see temperatures between 9 to 12 degrees. Friday night will bring clear spells in the south and west initially, but cloud cover will increase elsewhere with patchy rain and drizzle. Cloud will spread across the south and west overnight, and persistent rain may move into the southwest and south towards morning. Patches of mist and hill fog are also possible. Overnight lows will range from 2 to 7 degrees, with light to moderate east to southeast breezes
