Storm Eowyn is set be one of the worst storms Ireland has seen in living memory
Weather experts in Ireland are predicting Status Red alerts to be issued in the coming days ahead of Storm Eowyn, which is on course to be the most damaging storm to hit the country in a long time.
The Weather Alerts Ireland channel on X, meanwhile, has forecast “worrying” wind speeds and said that red alerts are “very likely” in the coming days. A meteorological commentary published after Storm Eowyn was named on Tuesday, meanwhile, stated that weather warnings will be issued in the coming days, with “orange warnings as a minimum”. Fallen trees and power outages are likely as a result of the inclement conditions, which will include snow, sleet, heavy rain and damaging wind gusts, with the west and northwest of the country likely to be worst affected.
