Elliot Horgan, an 11-year-old boy from Co Kerry, passed away last week after battling Sturge Weber Syndrome (SWS). The rare condition left him unable to walk or talk, and he required round-the-clock care. St Francis Special School, where Elliot attended, led the tributes, describing him as a 'gentle soul' and a 'true warrior'.
Tributes are being paid to ‘a lovely little boy’ from Co Kerry after he sadly passed away last week after battling a rare illness.
His condition meant that he required round the clock care, with his mother Aoife becoming his sole carer. He also attended St Francis Special School in Beaufort, which provides specialist education for children and young people aged between 4 and 18 with moderate or severe to profound learning disabilities.
"We as a School Community were truly honoured and blessed to have known Elliot and to have shared many happy times with him at our School. Another person added: "Sincerest sympathy to you Aoife, Trish, Hugh, Laura and all of Elliot's family and friends. Thinking of you all at this devastating time. He was a true warrior and will definitely watch over you all. Rest in Peace Elliot."
